Let’s be honest. No one wants to get dressed up in clothes they feel totally awkward in and stand still while plastering a smile on their face.  And frankly, I know down the road, the photos that I will repeatedly stop and reflect on are not the perfect formal portraits. They will be the images of my family interacting and showing off their personalities in our home or at one of our favorite personal spots.  So I do things a little differently.  Think of these storytelling photo sessions more as a creation of a time capsule or an illustrated chapter in your family history.

In an effort to keep things simple I offer two session lengths with a few package options that fit the needs of various types of clients. These are outlined below. 

Mini sessions are not generally available but are offered with limited availability once a year. Sign up for my newsletter, to be notified for openings. Wedding photography is not available at this time.

Storytelling Sessions

Perfect for families, babies, and high school seniors.

 

My storytelling sessions rely on a blend of lifestyle and documentary approaches to shooting in order to capture authentic and candid moments. Instead of spending a little over an hour standing and sitting and posing and smiling, your storytelling session will be activity based, playful, and full of interaction. Ultimately it will feel less like a photo session and more like hanging out with a new acquaintance that just happens to be really good with a camera.

This approach results in galleries that are varied, beautiful, and cohesive. Final client galleries generally include a couple more traditional portraits in addition to artistic details and images with an environmental emphasis. These galleries are curated to read much like a visual story; full of context and with a clear beginning, middle and end.

Storytelling Pricing

Packages start at $350 + tax and include:

  • 1 – 2 hour shoot for up to 5 people on location or in your home
  • online gallery of 50+ personally edited images within 3 weeks
  • Select number of digital files
  • Print discount

Photo books, keepsake box, and custom USBs are available in select packages. Additional prints, products and digital files are available a la carte.

A $200 retainer is required at booking. Retainer value is then rolled into your selected package.

Wedding Photography is not available at this time but smaller event packages are available upon request.

These session are perfect for small events or celebrating everyday rituals.

 

Are you the type of person that stalks Facebook, Pinterest, or the Blogosphere in general drooling over the personal pictures of photographers? You know, the one’s where their kids are sitting at the kitchen table just eating lunch, but somehow it looks like art? Do you sit there and wish that you could have some beautiful photos like that to look on years from now and think, ”Remember when the kids were really into building couch cushion forts?” or “Remember that year we were really into wine tasting?” or “Gosh, remember how the kids used to hide in that cabinet before we remodeled?” (I know those are the photos I want, but you may already know that.)

 

Well, how about this. How about I make those pictures for you? Seriously, I would love to.

How about I capture your family in their element, being themselves; no directing, no coordinated outfits, and no forced smiles.

 

Today Sessions are "Day in the Life" style sessions. They are longer sessions (roughly 4 - 6 hours in length), are 100% documentary in nature and are designed to capture a full slice of your life right now. Honest. Authentic. Real. Beautiful.


Today sessions include your digital library and a hardbound album.
