STORYTELLING

What do you mean by ‘Storytelling’ photography?

Storytelling photography sessions rely on a blend lifestyle and documentary approaches to shooting in order to capture authentic and candid moments.  Instead of spending an hour standing and sitting and posing and smiling your storytelling session will be activity based, playful, and full of interaction.  This results in galleries that are varied, beautiful, and cohesive.  Galleries include a couple traditional portraits in addition to artistic details and images with environmental emphasis curated into a collection with a beginning, middle and end.

Why hire a lifestyle/documentary photographer?

Because you will get images that capture the funny face your son makes when he concentrates too hard.  And the way your daughter, when confronted with an open field, breaks out into a full sprint every. single. time. You will have a visual record of the way Dad’s eyes close with contentment when his young children attack him with hugs.  And Mom’s stunned adoration when she glances at her newborn child.

Life doesn’t happen in a studio. Life happens in our homes, at our favorite parks, and on our city streets.

Life is not always smiles and perfectly placed hair.  But it’s the quirks and imperfections that make us…us.  And that deserves to be documented most of all.
