Continuing out of “The Visual Toolbox”, week 5 of my P52 is dedicated to camera movement. Something that requires a little less “rule following” and generally outside how I normally work. The idea is to set your ISO and aperture so as to allow a very slow shutter speed. Then once while the shutter is open, move the camera with intent. The result is an abstract image of line and color.
It was more difficult to get a good image than you might think.
You have to think quite abstractly. You have to think about what colors and lines are present in the scene and how the camera movement will affect the image. To many colors and too much movement just results in a muddy mess. Not enough tonal variation and you end up with just a blur.
Here are a few of my favorites:

ISO 100 – f20 – 8s

ISO 100 – f16 – 5s

ISO 100 – f16 – 8s

ISO 100 – f36 – 3s
